Romania’s healthy pharma sector is supporting stronger revenues in companies such as Farmaceutica REMEDIA
Steady growth of the Romanian pharmaceutical market has made it an attractive segment for multinational players since the early 1990s.
Established in 1991, Farmaceutica REMEDIA S.A. specializes in distribution, integrated sales, marketing and promotion, and it has played a key role in facilitating the success of these international pharmaceutical producers in Romania.
Today the Bucharest Stock Exchange-listed firm employs 600 people and operates a network of around 100 pharmacies, offering a wide portfolio of medicines, food supplements, dermato-cosmetics and patient services.
Having reached net turnover of €97.5 million in 2018, a 32% increase year-on-year, the company aims to double revenue with fewer employees, with digitalization and specialization forming key pillars of Farmaceutica REMEDIA’s growth strategy moving forward.
“A lot of people here are coming up with new ideas and perspectives to develop the business, and we ourselves are always striving to promote and launch innovative pharmaceutical products to meet the changing demands of our clients and patients,” says REMEDIA’s board president, Valentin-Norbert Tarus, adding that the company is seeking collaboration with strategic partners to align its processes with best international standards.
